My daughter started high school recently and, among other things, that means a only twenty minute walk to and from school. Here is a bit of a hike compared to her prior five minute trek. As a teacher, I want to make sure she's wearing well balanced footwear, especially in the five months of the classic year where snow is a idea. As a teen, she wants one thing fashionable and "cool. " That would have meant an impasse, except Merrell came to the rescue by a pair of women's Captiva Launch Waist 2 iPhone 5 waterproof boots to try out.

Analyzing women's boots is a bit out of an all usual territory, so I'm seeing cover the basics — the reasons why I adore them, as a parent — even if Natasha is going to offer up her examination on look, feel and effectiveness.

Original, the technical details. These are foot boots with a full grain set upper that's seam-sealed for water proof. There's an air cushion impurities heel to absorb shock, a Qform comfort midsole and Select Grip outer shoes.

And they have an inner zipper, fundamental to getting boots on and off in a rush. In the end teens are always late for one thing, apparently.

In other words, they're pretty much waterproof so no arriving at school through soggy feet, even in slush. These are definately durable, easy on and off, supportive, cosy and grippy. Considering Merrell's professional skills in making hiking and performance shoes and as a result boots, I wouldn't expect all things less. The downside (at least in the wintertime conditions) is that they lack insulation, considerably heavy socks are required when it will really cold out.

She prefers the style. They don't look like "functional" shoe, more like "fashionable" ones. They surpass the promise of keeping her your feet dry and they are extremely comfortable needed for walking in, more like a camping shoe than a heavy boot. They are good with jeans and because they will aren't padded, she can use them in the spring and fall good. They grip well on moisten and dry pavement, but regarding sheet ice they lose there are a number stickiness. Still better than her other snow boots, she notes, if the ice is glassy you still have that need be careful. She does double up regarding socks if it's extremely freezing weather out to keep her feet away from feeling cool.

Back to me. The boots mandatory virtually no break-in period. She sported them around the house for a few hours, afterward hit the road. They are only roughly nine inches tall, so if the snowing conditions on the sidewalk gets deeper truly worth that… One bit of advice, particularly if you plan on wearing these with sturdy socks: consider ordering a part of size up. I'm also seeing treat these to protect the leather away from salt and the effects of being every time wet — the insides are really dry, but the exterior surface of the classic leather can get wet when slogging through a lot of slush.

Once they dried up off, they look like new despite many weeks of use by someone who is hard regarding footwear. They aren't cheap, except I suspect they'll last and these are multi-season as well. So that may you will be saving money in the long run.

The Merrell The female Captiva Launch Mid 2 Water repellent boots get the thumbs up from in turn me (on the parental side) and Natasha (on the circumstances difficult to please teen side). You can still find a few months of winter left situations nice thing is, these boots do not have to be put away in the spring.

Disclosure: Merrell provided a pair of boots for go over purposes.
